Tree Fall- installation by artist Andy Goldsworthy.
“As with all my work, whether it’s a leaf on a rock or ice on a rock, I’m trying to get beneath the surface appearance of things. Working the surface of a stone is an attempt to understand the internal energy of the stone.”
The elements he combines, mark the tools itself. He picks up stones, leafs, sand, snow, clay, wood, water (ice) and creates compositions. Then he assembles them by using sticks, thorns and grass- fibers opposed to man made materials. Seasons change, his work adapts and he waits for nature to give him whatever it is. The truth is energy and the form of things and how they develop in a natural way.
